Terms and conditions:
Closing date is 11 pm GMT Monday April 30th, 2018. Entries received after this date will not be considered.
All entrants must be 16 years old or over, the Nasty Women Art Prize (NWAP) team reserves the right to disqualify anyone, at any time during the competition, who cannot provide appropriate proof of age if requested.
Entries will not be considered submitted until we have received all elements listed in the “Submissions” section of the Nasty Women Art Prize website AND the entrants fee via Just Giving HERE, so please ensure donations are not anonymous and that the names are the same on submissions and associated donations!
Nasty Women Art Prize does not offer refunds for entrant fees
The Nasty Women Art Prize team reserves the right to disqualify Submissions that do not include all elements requested in the “Submissions” section of the Nasty Women Art Prize website or which run over the specific word counts for each section
Money from prize entrance fees will be used to fund the cash prizes for the winning entry and two runner ups (40%), cover admin costs of running the prize incurred by the NWAP team (25%), towards refreshments, promotion etc. of the awards ceremony and final exhibition (25%) and donations to Planned Parenthood (10%). Expenses will be detailed on the Nasty Women International Art Prize 2018 “Just Giving” page in order to keep finances transparent.
Individuals may enter multiple times with different proposals, however selections for any awards / prizes will be limited to one per entrant

Due to expected high levels of interest in the prize the Nasty Women Art Prize team anticipate that they will not have the resources to offer feedback to everyone who entered the prize. The short list of 25 “Highly Commended” entrants (entrants who will go through to the second round of judging) will be announced on Fri May 25th via the Nasty Women Art Prize website and related social media.
The Nasty Women Art Prize Art Prize Team will not be able to enter into communications with individuals about entries or about the judging process or the judge’s decisions.
The judge’s decisions are final.
By entering, entrants are granting the Nasty Women International Art Prize 2018 and our partners* permission to use their name, images of themselves and the work submitted for publicity / promotion and use in the round one pop up exhibition in Newcastle, UK (and possibly other cities around the world- for more info on these please keep checking the Nasty Women Art Prize social media and website).
Entrants who go through to stage three of judging must be able to come and install the work on Kitt’s head / send comprehensive instructions and provide all materials needed to produce the work.
Successful entrants are responsible for transporting the work themselves, for providing appropriate insurance for themselves and their work and for any expenses incurred in doing this.
Finalists may be required to take part in promotional activity relating to the Nasty Women International Art Prize 2018.
Lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete entries (to all rounds of the competition) will not be accepted.
The Nasty Women Art Prize team are not responsible for damage to any art works during installation or exhibition, insurance for any art works or returning works to finalists after the exhibition.
Finalists must take make their own arrangements to collect any art work at the end of judging and cover their own transportation costs.
The overall winner will be announced at in London UK 7 October, 2018
Overall winner exhibition opportunities: Details of the exhibitions including dates, promotion, installation, any commission from sales of work from these exhibitions are to be negotiated between the awarding gallery and the winning artist, this is not the responsibility of the Nasty Women Art Prize Team
We want to say a huge thank you to all the amazing people who are supporting this new Nasty adventure! Please be aware that the Nasty Women Art Prize (as with all Nasty Women events) is a DIY event- it is completely volunteer run and self-funding. It exists to celebrate, reward and raise the profile of Nasty artists and activists around the world and to raise money for Planned Parenthood. This is not a commercial venture and everyone involved including all gallerists, judges, etc. is giving their time on a completely voluntary basis, because they support and love the movement!
